👋 Hi, I’m Lennix.
Hi, I’m Lennix Foreman—a licensed school counselor and college advisor with 15+ years of experience helping young people and their families navigate college, career, and everything in between.
I bring real-world strategy and deep care. I’ve spent my career walking students through the fine print of FAFSA, the weird logic of essays, the panic of picking a major, and the very real grief of growing up. I don’t sell formulas. I build relationships—and I hold space for complexity, humor, and surprise.
I’ve worked with thousands of students across public schools, nonprofits, and private settings. I’ve built and led college offices from the ground up, trained with national leaders in college access, and been named in Counseling That Changes Lives. I’m also a queer, neurodivergent parent who believes that guidance should be honest, strategic, and deeply human.

🤔 Is It Worth Hiring a College Counselor?
Maybe you’re wondering: Can’t our school counselor help with all of this?
Honestly, I hope they can. I used to be one—and they’re some of my favorite people on Earth.
But here’s the reality:
Most school counselors support 400–600 students each
They juggle mental health, class scheduling, crisis response, and college
Many families get only a few short meetings—and lots of generic info
Working with me is different. I offer:
1:1 support that’s tailored to your teen and a very small caseload (max = 10)
Strategy and insight that comes from helping thousands of students across all kinds of pathways
Deep understanding of test-optional admissions, early college and Transfer credits, financial aid, lgbtq+ issues, study abroad, campus activism, free speech issues, local legal landscapes, scholarships, CTE programs, gap years, and college alternatives
Whether your teen is aiming for a top liberal arts school, an art and design program, a state university, or a nontraditional route—I meet them where they are and help them move forward.
There are a lot of college counselors out there—some great, some… less great. So here’s what you should know about working with me:
I’m not just here to help your teen get into college. I’m here to help them figure out who they are, what they care about, and how to move toward it with clarity and confidence. That might mean applying to top-tier schools—or not. It might mean naming a dream that’s been buried under pressure or perfectionism. It might mean taking a gap year, switching paths, or finding the kind of school that actually fits.
If you’re looking for someone who will treat your teen like more than a résumé…
If you want guidance that’s honest, affirming, and built around your actual life…
You’re in the right place.
What I Believe
The college process should not make you cry.
Smart doesn’t always show up on a transcript.
There’s no one path. But there is a path that fits you.
Every student deserves honest support, not pressure or panic.
Access matters. So does rest. So does joy.
Who I love working with
If you’re a smart-but-stuck teen, a burnt-out high achiever, a skeptical young adult, a worried-but-loving parent, or someone who doesn’t quite fit the mold — I see you. I tend to work best with:
Neurodivergent students (and parents!)
LGBTQ+ families, teens, adults
BIPOC and/or 1st gen & other historically excluded identities
Creative, curious, or “I hate school but I still want to do something cool” types
Families who care deeply, even if they’re not sure how to help
